Call for International Partnership with School of Zhe’s TCM International Development Alliance

The Action Plan for the Internationalization of the School of Zhe’s TCM is an international exchange program of traditional Chinese medicine initiated by Zhejiang Chinese Medical University (ZCMU). It is expected to be launched in June 2023. ZCMU is now seeking partners from all over the world to establish the School of Zhes TCM International Development Alliance.

I. School of Zhe’s TCM

The School of Zhe’s TCM is a general term for the academic schools of TCM in Zhejiang Province. It embraces diverse schools: the Danxi School, the Shao School of Cold Damage, the Yongjia School, the Qiantang School, the School of Medical Classics, the School of Cold Damage, the School of Warm Diseases, the School of Warming and Supplementing, the School of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, and the School of Materia MedicaEach school distinguishes itself in academic propositions, diagnosis and treatment, and prescription, exerting considerable impact on the local area.

II. Action Plan for the Internationalization of the School of Zhe’s TCM

The Action Plan is aimed to createa mechanism for an enduring international TCM cooperation, explore new channels and modes for the internationalization of the School of Zhes TCM, and build a higher-quality overseas TCM service system. The Action Plan features ten a/an’s, namely, an alliance, a promotional video, a book, a course, a series of serials, an app, a team, a series of international academic conference, a series of free online clinic, and a series of training. Worldwide higher education institutions, organizations, and individuals that engage in the international education, medical services, academic research, culture dissemination, etc., of TCM, especially those that research on the School of Zhes TCM or have studied TCM in Zhejiang, are welcome to join the Action plan. Let us combine international TCM resources to offer Zhejiang-style healthcare to the world and advance the UN Sustainable Development Goal of "good health and well-being" through TCM modernization and internationalization.

III. Contents of Cooperation

Partners can support the Action Plan in the following ways:

1. As a member of the School of Zhes TCM International Development Alliance, organize or participate in global dissemination activities of the School of Zhes TCM, including book translation, MOOC development, international academic seminars, free online medical services, and training;

2. Actively undertake international TCM talent cultivation and TCM culture communication in the partner’s local area with the international education training, and healthcare and cultural resources of TCM provided by the Alliance;

3. Improve TCM diagnosis and treatment services, further local people’s understanding  of TCM, and facilitate overseas localization of TCM by integrating the School of Zhes TCM with the TCM characteristics of the partner’s country/region;

4. Establish strategic cooperation with other members of the Alliance to achieve win-win results with shared resources and complementary advantages.

IV. Application

Interested institutions should submit the Proposal for Partnership (template in Annex2) to international@zcmu.edu.cn (please put "Proposal for Partnership: School of Zhe’s TCM International Development Alliance" in the email subject and attach relevant documentation to the email).
